"Under surveillance, I dunno. Back when I was a walking puffball with nerd glasses, I guess. Which….wasn’t long ago actually." he shrugged, laughing as he ran a hand through his newly shortened hair.
—- “Nerd glasses, huh?” Spencer smiled to herself, thinking to the reading glasses she had tucked inside her bag hanging against her hip. “You don’t strike me as a puffball and nerd glasses kind of person. I find it a little hard to believe.”
Seeing him now, at least. He didn’t look as he was describing himself in the now, insinuating that SHIELD had their crooked noses in his files long before they likely had any reason to. Knowledge like that didn’t seem to surprise her anymore though, not since she had begun associating herself.
"Not too long ago I was riding my bike through the rain as far as Harlem to deliver pizzas though, so I guess I shouldn’t doubt you. Course now I’m just delivering to Stark Tower when I’m not there interning." She joked, averting her eyes elsewhere as she inhaled deeply.
"Yeah, yeah nerd glasses and puffball. Life’s a whole new world when you get contacts. You look less like a hipster." he commented, laughing. "The puffball on the other hand, is a distant memory now, though I gotta admit I miss it." he added with a shrug, nodding.
“Definitely a chocolate person.” he nodded, bright blue eyes scanning the tray in a trained manner, examining everything.
"Well in that case then you should try the brownie," Eos smiled. "It’s triple fudge. Then there’s the peanut butter cookies with a chocolate center," she pointed to the one she meant. "And the devil’s food cake is a natural choice for a chocolate lover. Oh, and this one is a chocolate cookie with chocolate chips and white chocolate chips."
He grinned, chuckling. “Well that’s a be a lotta chocolate. Well what’d you recommend?”
"I actually quite like it, so I don’t see your problem with being here."
"Yes well unfortunately, I have no desire to be in this realm, let alone this city."
"….Uh-huh. That uh, doesn’t sound crazy at all.”
—— You look familiar.”
"I do, huh?"
"That’d be excellent, thank you." he nodded, running a hand through his hair. "I’m aware it’s not good bottling it up, I just…..lack a partner who understands." Wow, that was the worst lie ever.
"Jack, with all due respect, you’re a terrible liar. And I would willingly bet money that I could understand - if that is what you’re truly looking for." He smiled gently. "Though you’d probably laugh at my story and call me a one-way cab to the nuthouse."
"One-way cab to the nuthouse huh? Yeah, you could say the same to me depending on how it’ explained." he retorted with a chuckle, shaking his head.

"True, very true. No one’s as good as you perceive." he nodded in agreement, only now noticing he’d left out a "I learned that the hard way".
The next comment brought a laugh from the royal, a shake of his head disrupting semi-perfect brown hair. “So you agree I’m a douchebag. But, that’s…not exactly what I meant. Even a prince has his secrets.”
—- “Then I won’t pry,” He said, deciding not to argue the point made about the other comment. Jack Benjamin was aware of who he was and could be. Steve wasn’t a man to lie for the benefit of others if the only thing they got out of it was the stroking of their ego and bias.
"But if I’m going to be here I do request you tell me where a good place to eat may be? Unless I’m out of line for requesting the company of the prince."
"Good, good." he nodded, his wave of nervousness dissipating. It was nice, not having to explain himself or his actions for once in his life. Relaxing, you could even say.
"The company of a prince, huh? Now I can get down with that, sure. Why not." he nodded, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "As of the topic of places to eat, I’ve got no idea. I’m a Benjamin, I don’t exactly eat out a lot."
